President - Gregory S. MacDuff, Ph.D., BCBA-D is Co-Executive Director of the Princeton Child Development Institute. He is Adjunct Professor in the Department of Applied Behavioral Sciences at the University of Kansas and the Department of Psychology at The College of New Jersey. He has authored articles and book chapters on incidental teaching, photographic activity schedules, staff training strategies, prompt- and prompt-fading procedures, behavioral intervention for adults with autism and intervention models in residential settings. He has lectured nationally and internationally, and has provided consultation and training to a variety of public and private programs. President-Elect - Kevin J. Brothers, Ph.D., is the founding Executive Director of the Somerset Hills Learning Institute. Dr. Brothers earned his doctorate in Developmental and Child Psychology from the University of Kansas in 1999. Having studied with Donald M. Baer, Ph.D., Patricia J. Krantz, Ph.D., and Lynn E. McClannahan, Ph.D., his research interests include issues in stimulus control, organizational behavior management, and incorporating digital technology in autism treatment. Dr. Brothers' articles have been published in the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis and the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disabilities. He co-authored, with Dr. Anthony Cammilleri, the chapter: The Baer Necessities: Observation, Measurement, and Analysis, published in A Small Matter of Proof: The Legacy of Donald M. Baer in 2003. Previous positions include those held at the Princeton Child Development Institute (PCDI), Bancroft, Autism New Jersey, Lawrence Kansas Public School District, and as an educational consultant to public schools and families. Past President/Publications Chair - John L. Brown, Ph.D., BCBA-D is
the Director of Training and Programs in Applied Behavior Analysis at
Hunter College/CUNY. Dr. Brown completed his doctoral studies in the
Learning Processes program at the Graduate School and University Center
of the City University of New York. He has completed a doctoral
fellowships in autism intervention at the Princeton Child Development
Institute and developmental disabilities at the New York State Institute
for Basic Research in Developmental Disabilities. His research
interests include the development of interventions to address
communication deficits experienced by individuals with autism. In
addition, he has conducted research on interventions used to reduce
problem behavior among individuals with autism. His current research
program is designed to evaluate the language content developed during
script-fading interventions. (Term ends June, 2012)
Treasurer - Colleen Cullari, MBAis a senior
auditor and accountant at Cullari, Carrico, Soojian, Burke, LLC (CCSB)
specializing in nonprofits. Colleen has extensive experience with
Private Schools for Students with Disabilities and the New Jersey
Administrative Code Section 6A:23A-18.9. Currently, Colleen works with
approximately 20 Private Schools for Students with Disabilities. Prior
to working for CCSB, Colleen worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers,
auditing large insurance companies throughout the tri-state area where
she developed a strong base for internal controls based auditing and
accounting. Through this knowledge, Colleen performs within the
capacity as Treasurer for New Jersey Association for Behavior Analysis. (Term ends June, 2012)
Secretary/Continuing Education Chair - Kate E. Cerino Britton, M.S.Ed., M.A., BCBA is
a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a certified teacher of the
handicapped, and has worked with individuals with autism since 1997. She
is currently the Principal and Assistant Director at the Alpine
Learning Group. She holds a Masters in Educational Administration from
Caldwell College and Special Education from Long Island University. She
serves on the New Jersey Association for Behavior Analysis Board of
Directors as the Secretary and CE Chair and has presented at national
and international conferences on increasing socialization, problem
solving, promoting safety, and augmentative communication. (Term ends June, 2013)
Finance Committee Chair - Dawn B. Townsend, Ph.D., BCBA-D
is the Executive Director of the Institute for Educational Achievement.
She earned a doctorate in psychology from the CUNY Graduate School and
University Center. Her research has focused on the development of social
and language skills in children with autism and she has published
numerous articles in both basic and applied behavior analysis journals.
In addition, she promotes the application of behavior analysis in the
education of individuals with autism through consultation with other
programs and professionals. (Term ends June, 2012)
Representative at Large - Paul J. Argott, Ph.D., BCBA-D
is the Clinical Director of the Educational Partnership for Instructing
Children. He earned his doctoral degree from the Graduate Center of
the City University of New York in Psychology with a focus on Learning
Processes and Behavior Analysis and a specialization in developmental
disabilities. He has presented at local conferences and the annual ABAI
conference on the social skill development and language production of
individuals with autism. His clinical and research interests include
the empathic responding and vocal productions of individuals with
autism, the use of reinforcement schedules to modify behavior in applied
settings, and behavioral variability as an operant. (Term ends June, 2013)
Representative at Large - Eric Rozenblat, M.A., BCBA is
a trainer of Applied Behavior Analysis at the Institute for Educational
Achievement. He earned a Masters Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis
from Caldwell College and is now a doctoral candidate in Applied
Behavior Analysis at Caldwell College. He has presented at local
conferences on various topics including differential schedules of
reinforcement, staff training, and promoting independence in students
with autism. He has published work in peer-reviewed journals. His
research interests include differential schedules of reinforcement,
teaching joint attention skills to individuals with autism, and teaching
language and social skills through script and script-fading procedures. (Term ends June, 2013)
Membership Chair - Sharon A. Reeve, Ph.D., BCBA-D
is Professor of Applied Behavior Analysis at Caldwell College where she
also directs the Graduate Programs in ABA. Her research interests
include stimulus control and social skills training for children with
autism. Dr. Reeve consults for school and home-based ABA programs and
serves on various advisory boards for agencies and schools involved with
autism treatment. Previously, she served as Vice President of NJABA and
Vice President of the Association for Science in Autism Treatment. (Term ends June, 2012)
Consumer Representative - Mary Beth Walsh, Ph.D. is the mother of a young adolescent significantly affected by autism, and a typically developing older teen. She holds a doctorate in theology and ethics from Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York and works as a peer counselor on the Mom2Mom helpline, a support line for mothers of individuals with special needs offered through University Behavioral Health Care of UMDNJ. Her advocacy work for individuals with autism spans advocating for inclusion in faith communities to advocating for the use of science-based interventions. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Autism Task Force of the National Catholic Partnership on Disabilities, and on the Advisory Board for the Office of Pastoral Ministries with Persons with Disabilities of the Archdiocese of Newark. She presents frequently on the topic of including individuals with autism in faith communities and consults with congregations of many denominations. She is co-editor of the resource, Journey into Community: Including Individuals with Autism in Faith Communities, and her most recent article is, "The Top Ten Reasons the Child With Autism Deserves ABA," which appears in the current issue of The Journal of Behavior Analysis in Practice. Government Affairs Chair - Suzanne Buchanan, Psy.D., BCBA
is the Clinical Director at Autism New Jersey, a licensed psychologist
and Board Certified Behavior Analyst - Doctoral (BCBA-D). She earned a
doctorate in clinical psychology from Long Island University and has
worked in the autism field for more than fifteen years. Dr. Buchanan
provides Autism New Jersey with clinical leadership; supervises applied
behavior analytic services for families and professionals; disseminates
information regarding evidence-based intervention to parents,
professionals, and the media; and advises public policy efforts from a
clinical perspective. Her interests include family resilience, informed
decision-making about autism intervention, and contributing to the
development and implementation of state policies that impact the autism
community and the professionals who support them. She currently serves
as the Government Affairs Chair of the New Jersey Association for
Behavior Analysis and is the co-author of Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism: An Introduction and other agency publications. (Term ends June, 2012)
Public Relations Chair - Kathleen McCabe-Odri, Ed.D., is the Executive Director and Co-founder of Partners in Learning, Inc., a non-profit organization providing inclusive education for young children with autism. She is Co-President of Advance, Inc., a private consulting practice for children and young adults with language and behavioral delays. She has been an adjunct professor at Rowan University and has presented professional workshops on the use of behavior analysis to improve treatment integrity, staff and parent training, increasing student independence and attending, as well as feeding, sleeping, and inclusive education for children on the autism spectrum. Student Representative - Jessica Rothschild, M.A., BCBA is
a student in Caldwell College’s Ph.D. in Applied Behavior Analysis
(ABA) program. She works for the Bernards Township Public School
District where she is the intermediate classroom teacher for children
with autism. Jessica’s research interest includes teaching individuals
with autism to participate in their communities. She serves on a
professional advisory board for the Pastoral Ministry for Persons With
Disabilities.(Term ends June, 2012)
